Express Happiness

Express Happiness is a rich framework for creating web apps and services, built on top of the Express framework.

We all use and love Express. When it comes to large and complex apps, their maintainability sometimes becomes difficult as we keep on adding routes and handling errors, and permissions.

Express Happiness provides a way to develop robust and maintainable apps or REST APIs.

MotorCortex.js

Very recently, our Lead Developer Andreas Trantidis open-sourced an amazing web animations library called MotorCortex.js.

The “motor cortex” is the part of the human brain that controls the movement of the whole body. This centralized control over the body’s muscles movement achieved by this very part of the brain is solely responsible for its smooth, harmonic, and “natural” movement.

MotorCortex.js aspires to mimic the human brain’s motor cortex by providing a new layer of software abstraction that handles and describes the movement of the various elements of an html application in such a way that all timed effects do not interfere with the logic (decision making) layer of the software. Plus, each “transition” is treated as a matter of the whole application body and not just of each element alone. And all this with an easy and straight-forward CSS-like syntax and a js API that respects and matches all the modern MV* Javascript frameworks.

tradpaginator v0.8 with new features

tradpaginator v 0.8 is out bringing new features and capabilities.

What’s new:
1. ‘auto’ option has been added to curpage parameter. With this new feature you don’t have to define each time the current page of the paginated results set. By using the ‘auto’ keyword as the parameter’s value the plugin automatically detects the current page by the value of the corresponding form input or get variable.
2. Ordering. This is the most important addition on version 0.8. With a very similar way (as with pagination) you can now define the get variables or the form inputs that hold and pass the order by and ascending / descending values. Also, if you use tables for illustrating the results you can easily turn your column names to active ordering links just by wrapping them into spans with “tradpaginatororder” class and by providing the column name it represents on its data-col attribute.

More details, examples and documentation can be found on the official plugin’s page on github from where you can also download it.

tradpaginator

Our Lead Developer, Andreas Trantidis, released a jQuery pagination plugin on github.

Here is the description:
How many times have you found yourself coding again and again a pagination controls section for a project of yours?
Decide which is the page range that should be illustrated, center the current page within this range, include a jump menu, bind a click action to each button in order to actually do something and many more are aspects that we face again and again when building custom web pages including pagination logic.
tradpaginator plugin provides an easy and rapid way to append pagination buttons and controls letting you to state the parameters and taking care of all the rest.
tradpaginator illustrates the page buttons and controls and it lets you chain their functionality with the logic and structure of your application.

Full documentation and code can be found on the official github page of the project
